Street Beat is an original work towards the later stages of my screen-printing phase.
It is an urban art style with collaged layers of screen-prints and brush painting in the torn 
billboard genre. I often use random images and text etc to create something new or accidentally engaging in a visual cut n' paste method not unlike the writer William Burroughs. Art of course doesn't have to make sense, it just has to work, or sing or resonate on one or more levels. This piece has a retro vibe with a partial image of movie actress Anne Margaret, an image of a punk and the partial words of Hot Rod Heaven - nothing makes sense except the finished product, which is a vibrant, balanced contemporary art composition.
